What is a Cleft Palate?

A cleft palate is a split in the roof of the mouth. This split leaves a hole between the nose and mouth which causes problems with feeding, dental problems and difficulties with speech. The defect is treatable and often-times babies that are born with a cleft palate are able to recovery completely.

Cleft Palate Treatment

Treatment for Cleft Palate begins when the child is around 3 months old and continues through adulthood. Cleft palate treatment includes a team consisting of a plastic surgeon, orthodontist, oral surgeon, speech therapist, nurse coordinator and/or social worker which all work together for each patient’s individual treatment needs.

A Zofran Cleft Palate lawsuit will help recover expected medical expenses during this time period.
